First Lady Mini is my homage to the iconic U.K. First Class Stamp which features HRH, The Queen.
This re-interpretation uses my X- Ray of the Queen’s profile combined with the well known 1st font used on the first class stamp.
The X-ray is the perfect example for me of how we all look the same underneath and the first class stamp with an X-rayed Queen profile reiterates this idea.
Further more the font 1st of the stamp allows to add an extra layer of reading for this artwork.
The X-rayed profile is completely anonymous but at the same time the stamp bears the writing: 1st
This is my first artwork printed directly on aluminium.
I love how it catches the light and the brushed silver texture of the surface makes it a super contemporary piece.
Digitally printed on brushed silver aluminium in a slim black aluminium frame. The print is signed on the back. Available in three colourways, it works well displayed on its own, in a pair but visually is particularly striking as a complete set.
